Then of course there's the view!

The Gardens

When we have any spare time one of our favourite places to visit are

The Silver Sands of Morar.

A celebrated series of beautiful sandy beaches which pepper the coastline

from Arisaig to Morar.

The sands, made famous through countless calendars,

were the setting for the beach scenes in the classic film

'Local Hero' in the 1980's.

They are a whole series of beaches lying to the west of the old road

between Arisaig and Morar.

Most of the beaches are just a stones throw from the roadside.

The road for the main tourist route was recently extensively upgraded and is easily reached within an hour of here.

For days when you want to stay closer to home
